Visually Impaired Series I
– Room No. 1 and 2
100 x 120 cm each
Acrylic on canvas
Inspired by my voluntary service for the visually impaired community, this diptych explores the unique sensory encounters that shape our perceptions and comfort within personal spaces. While they may lack sight, they have remarkable tactile and olfactory senses. Through the depictions of my own bedroom (left) and that of a visually impaired boy (right), I hope to encapsulate the similarities in our lives while exploring the subtle differences that exist between them. The physical state of our environment may not be much different, but our unique experiences allow us to personalize it as our own.
