My intense high school years felt like an endless loop: wake up, school, activities, homework, four hours of sleep, and repeat. The burden of my stress pressed on my heart like an oppressive stone, and no matter what I did, I couldn't lift the weight off of my chest. I felt trapped. This artwork objectifies stress in the form of a prism, mimicking the simple structure of a bird trap. Regardless of its source, stress chained me down and it felt impossible to break free from the cycle I caught myself in.
